VIGO DI FASSA AREA

Summer on Catinaccio Rosengarten

Discover the kingdom of King Laurin

The Catinaccio-Rosengarten hiking area is located in Val di Fassa and can be reached from Vigo by cable car or from Pera di Fassa by chairlift.

Catinaccio in summer is the ideal place to spend your vacation in the Alps thanks to its wide range of hikes, numerous mountain huts and offerings for adults and families. These Dolomite peaks, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, allow young and old to experience the mountains and admire the Enrosadira phenomenon every day at sunrise and sunset—the glowing red of the Dolomites.

Once you reach Ciampedie—a true panoramic terrace overlooking Val di Fassa and the Dolomites—you can admire the Sassolungo, Sella, Marmolada, Sasso Vernale, the Costabella ridge, Buffaure, Monzoni and Valaccia groups, and in the distance the Latemar group, Pale di San Martino and Lagorai. From here, numerous hikes of varying difficulty begin: flat walks suitable even with a trekking stroller, medium-difficulty hikes, loop trails, as well as equipped routes, multi-day tours with overnight stays in mountain huts, via ferratas and rock climbing.

From Ciampedie you can reach the peaceful Gardeccia area, then continue to the Preuss, Vajolet, Re Alberto and Principe huts, or climb up to Passo Santner or Passo Antermoia, then descend to the wonderful Lago d’Antermoia. Another area not to be missed is Roda de Vael, following the ancient Vial de le Feide, historically used by shepherds to guide their flocks in search of fresh grass, or the Alta Via dei Fassani. Also worth mentioning is the area around Passo delle Coronelle and Passo delle Cigolade.

The area also boasts a rich calendar of weekly activities.

There are numerous opportunities to participate in guided mountain hikes of varying duration and difficulty, suitable for both adults and children, as well as moments of relaxation and wellness with a holistic instructor and slow-paced trekking with alpacas.

Rounding out the offer, cozy mountain huts are ready to welcome you with their rich gastronomic selection and Ladin and Trentino specialties, the legendary Fly Line – an 1,100-meter-long aerial forest trail for gliding over the trees at a controlled speed – and the beautiful themed trails for families, including the new highlight for summer 2026, “The Blue Raven”.
